Garland’s Last Hurrah!

Welcome to a new Wildcard Wednesday! This week, we’re paying tribute to the one-of-a-kind talent, Judy Garland, the subject of a new biopic currently running this week in movie theaters.

For subscribers who comment below to alert me of their interest, I’m providing access to a May 1970 special that aired on British TV. Entitled The Last Performance, it was cobbled together from audio and video taken during Garland’s late March 1969 concert engagements in Malmo and Copenhagen — her final public booking — along with some documentary footage that Garland and her then-husband shot for a never-finished documentary to be titled A Day In The Life Of Judy Garland. (Read more about this below, courtesy of thejudyroom.com.)

This copy has Danish subtitles, but is otherwise complete — and it’s a real rare treat for fans of this iconic performer! Here’s a clip.

Come back next week for another Wildcard! And stay tuned Tuesday for more That ’70s Show!
