Welcome to a new Wildcard Wednesday! This week, we’re celebrating an early Thanksgiving, courtesy of the three-season MSTV “hit” — I put “hit” in quotes because people only watched it when it followed gems like Seinfeld or Frasier — Veronica’s Closet (1997-2000, NBC).

I’ll probably never make the time to produce full coverage of Veronica’s best episodes, and I’m a little saddened by that, not only because I’m a fan of Kirstie Alley and think any vehicle for her is more interesting than the era’s other equally middling fare, but also because it brings up a difficult inevitability with which I’ve had to come to terms lately: I simply won’t be able to cover every series here, even the ones I want to cover. This is especially true for mid-level shows like this, which have too many episodes for a single Wildcard post, but didn’t run long enough (or get the home video releases necessary) to be worthy of full Sitcom Tuesday consideration. (If this blog has a blind spot, these 40-100-episode sitcoms are in there.)

But I’ll always hold out hope that one day, blog or not, I’ll sit through the entirety of every series I want to sit through, and in the meantime, I can do entries like this, in which I offer for subscribers — who comment below to alert me of their interest — access to this show’s three Thanksgiving excursions: “Veronica’s First Thanksgiving” (11/20/97); “Veronica’s Thanksgiving That Keeps On Giving” (11/19/98); and “Veronica’s Got All The Right Stuffing” (11/22/99). They’re syndicated copies from the Arena run, but they’re a good sample of an “affable, but only okay” sitcom that went through a lot of changes during its mid-level life.
