There’s Nothing Like. . . High Button Shoes

Welcome to a new Musical Theatre Monday! This month, in accordance with Sitcom Tuesday’s coverage of The Phil Silvers Show (1955-1959, CBS), starting tomorrow, I wanted to take this entry to share with subscribers — who comment below to alert me of their interest — access to a live audio of last year’s Encores! production of High Button Shoes (1947), which, of course, initially starred Silvers, and has been featured several times before on this blog.

Below is a sample of the Encores! audio, for those curious. Here’s Michael Urie and company with Silvers’ original “There’s Nothing Like A Model T.”

And, oh, heck, for you interested subscribers, I’ll also throw in an untracked audio recording of the 2007 Goodspeed production. Just let me know!

Come back next month for a new musical rarity! And stay tuned for The Phil Silvers Show!

  1. Thank you Jackson. I would really ap[preciate it if you would send me the audio of High Button Shoes.
    Many thanks,

  2. I’d love to hear the two live audios you mentioned. I had heard of this show but never knew much about it. I can’t wait to give it a try. Thank you.

  3. I was in communication with somebody at Encores on Facebook asking to please, please! release a CD of this production, since there never was a complete Cast Recording made of the show. Obviously I didn’t get anywhere with that… I should have come to you first! Please send me the recording! Thanks, Jackson
