Re-Opening The Vault

Welcome to a new Wildcard Wednesday! This week, I’m re-opening up — for subscribers who comment below to alert me of their private, non-commercial interest — access to some of the fascinating sitcom rarities I’ve previously shared here over the past 11 years. These items are still frequently requested, so if you didn’t manage to grab them the first time, this is your chance — from now until December 11! In honor of Christmas and Hanukkah and everything else from this generally festive, reflective time of the year, I’m offering the following goodies:

  • Six unedited episodes of Burns And Allen with original commercials
  • The unsold 1959 pilot of Guestward, Ho! starring Vivian Vance
  • The 1969 TV special Dick Van Dyke And The Other Woman with Mary Tyler Moore
  • The unsold 1975 pilot Harry And Maggie starring Don Knotts and Eve Arden
  • The 1978 and 1980 clip show retrospectives of Soap
  • The last two supersized original broadcasts from Will & Grace’s fifth season
  • The unreleased West Coast broadcasts of the two live Will & Grace episodes

Let me know if you’re interested below and stay tuned next week for the start of our annual holiday contest — with some more fun, and new, sitcom prizes!

Come back next week for a new Wildcard! And stay tuned Tuesday for more of The Office!

  1. I was very pleased to find your site- I consider myself, at 75, a true veteran of sitcom history. I’d very much like to have access to these items in “the vault”.

  2. wow how generous of you! I would love to see all of these. I always enjoy your website. thanks for all you do.

    • Hi, Eric! Thanks for reading and commenting — and Happy Holidays to you!

I have emailed you at your rutgers address.

  3. Hi Jackson
Would love to see or hear the endeavors of these actors in other things besides the shows they were known for (Vivian Vance, Eve Arden) or shows that I missed because of my working hours (Dick Van Dyke, ” Will and Grace”). I enjoyed Burns and Allen when I was younger so will find thm still fun now. I saw a few Soaps so it will be interesting to see
what I think of it now since it was not on my time schedule.
    Thanks.

    Donna

  4. Everything with Eve Arden seems like a treat. I would love to see each one of these. Ofc with non-commercial interest.

  5. Hi Jackson! I’d love the complete “Dick Van Dyke and the Other Woman.” It’s a shame that the GetTV version that circulates is missing Mary’s groovy song and dance salute to women through history.
    Thank you!

  6. Thank you for your generosity, Jackson. I would like for you to please make available to me the Harry and Maggie Pilot and the Dick Van Dyke and the other woman special. Happy Holidays.

  7. Hi Jackson, I don’t know how many we are allowed to pick, but I would be very interested in Burns and Allen, Guestward, Ho, Dick Van Dyke and the Other Woman and Harry and Maggi. Thanks for re-opening the vault!
