New Year, New Survey. . . New Decade? (You Tell Me!)

Welcome to a new Wildcard Wednesday! This week, it’s time for another survey. In March, I will begin Sitcom Tuesday coverage on Community, followed by Modern Family — two predominantly 2010s-era sitcoms that nevertheless premiered in fall 2009 and were announced as part of my 2000s roster. After that… who knows what’s next? Well, I have an idea… but I still need some feedback to help guide me in the right direction. Specifically, I want to know from YOU what YOU want to seeAre you ready for this blog to more formally step into the 2010s? Or do we still have unfinished business in the 2000s? Or maybe you’d just rather I go back to the 20th century altogether? Here’s your chance to tell me, and to recommend actual shows — from any era, but especially the 2010s, as that’s basically uncharted territory.

Now, truthfully, there are too many comedies from the Peak TV decade, so I don’t think a comprehensive look is as feasible as before. That is, if I indeed choose to dive into the 2010s, I don’t know how many of its shows I’ll cover. Five? Seven? Ten? (gulp) More? Also, my preference is to keep at least a decade buffer between where we are now and the date of premiere for our Sitcom Tuesday offerings. So, if I indeed choose to dive into the 2010s, right now I’m mostly considering shows that debuted before 2016. And with that in mind, I have 21 specific titles on which I’d like you to vote — from 2009’s The Middle and Cougar Town to 2016’s The Good Place. You can select up to ten of those options for potential coverage. The link:

This survey will stay open for two weeks. After that, I will reveal the results and provide more clarity about where we’re heading following Community and Modern Family. Thanks in advance to everyone who participates — I so appreciate your time, interest, and support! (Oh, and for your reference, here’s a list of all the shows already covered on Sitcom Tuesdays.)

Come back next week for a new Wildcard! And stay tuned Tuesday for more sitcom fun!
