Welcome to a new Wildcard Wednesday — and a Happy New Year to all! As the proverbial torch officially passes from 2024 to 2025, I want to offer you another brief list that reflects upon this past year of THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT! In contrast to December’s holiday contest, where I asked you to guess five of my least favorite sitcom seasons from 2024’s examined lot, I’m now going to share my ten favorites — a much more competitive selection, since there was so much good featured here with Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development, and The Office, in particular (and I’m considering everything I covered this time, not just Sitcom Tuesdays from the 2000s). So, without further ado, here are my favorite seasons from 2024.
01) CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM Season Three: effortless Curb
02) CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM Season Four: Curb at its peak
03) CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM Season Seven: the Seinfeld arc!
04) THE COMEBACK Season One: a fascinating season of television
05) ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Season One: what novelty!
06) ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Season Two: the peak of Arrested
07) THE OFFICE Season Two: The Office at its most unique and exciting
08) THE OFFICE Season Three: another high-quality collection
09) THE OFFICE Season Four: a handful of absolute gems
10) THE OFFICE Season Five: this series’ last sublime season
Honorable Mentions: Titus Season One, Titus Season Two, Curb Your Enthusiasm Season Two (top contender), Curb Your Enthusiasm Season Five (top contender), Arrested Development Season Three, My Name Is Earl Season One, and My Name Is Earl Season Two
Come back next week for a new Wildcard and the start of The New Adventures Of Old Christine!
