Welcome to a new Wildcard Wednesday, on a Tuesday — with an important update about what to expect here over the coming months. Here’s the deal: I had planned to start coverage of Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s first eight seasons this week. However, last month, Larry David announced that his series would end with the upcoming twelfth (premiering in February 2024), and given that it will be much easier to discuss the show’s entire run in full, I have decided to wait until it’s officially over before I begin our study of it here on That’s Entertainment! That means, we’ll be getting to it in about four months, and since the other forthcoming efforts on our roster — like Arrested Development, The Office, etc. — must come after Curb, I have opted to fill this time by adding to our queue a show I initially didn’t plan to examine but now find too convenient to ignore: Two And A Half Men. Running for twelve seasons, this show is not always very good (an understatement), but I’m afraid I consider it one of the better new multi-cams from the 2000s decade, and with extra time to kill, it simply makes more sense to feature than not. Now, due to this abrupt change, coverage of Men is not ready yet, and it won’t be ready for probably a few weeks. So, in the meantime, I have written several Sitcom Tuesday posts on recent revivals — the first seasons of the new Frasier, That ’70s Show (now called That ’90s Show), and Night Court. Those will start next week, hopefully giving me enough time to prepare Men. 

I’ve pretty much settled on covering the series at this point, but I’m still interested in your thoughts. Specifically, I want to know what you think are the three most important-to-discuss multi-camera sitcoms that premiered in the 2000s decade. Right now, my intention is to cover Two And A Half Men, How I Met Your Mother (shot multi-cam, but without an audience and thus considered a “hybrid”) and The Big Bang Theory — all three of which are included in the survey below, along with eleven other titles that had similarly substantial runs (more than three seasons). You can also write in shows that are not already listed. I’ll share the results after this link closes next week. Oh, and you never know; perhaps it’ll convince me to add yet another early ’00s multi-cam to our roster.
