Welcome to a new Wildcard Wednesday! Before we say a final goodbye on this blog to That ’70s Show — coverage of which just concluded on Sitcom Tuesdays — I want to pay tribute to the series by offering subscribers, who kindly comment below to alert me of their interest, access to an unedited copy of the fifth season finale, “Celebration Day” [a.k.a. “Graduation”], which FOX originally aired on May 14, 2003 in a “supersized” format.
This version, which has five minutes of extra footage edited into the DVD copy, includes a handful of extra dialogue bits, the original ’70s music score, and a “previously on…” recap. Now, truthfully, I don’t think anything excised from the DVD/steaming cut is especially missed, but there is a fantasy sequence with Joe Theismann, as Red imagines what it would be like to have a kid-free basement all to himself, that’s memorable and worth seeing. Here’s a clip.
Come back next week for another Wildcard! And stay tuned Tuesday as we start Will & Grace!
I’m interested! Thanks!
