Welcome to a new Wildcard Wednesday, on a Tuesday! I’m battling a bit of a spring cold. Or, I was. By the time you read this, I’ve fully recovered. But in the meantime, I thought it prudent to preempt Modern Family for one week. So, here’s a sitcom treat to tide you over. It’s the full original pilot for Ed O’Neill’s previous hit sitcom, Married… With Children. Yes, before there was Jay and Gloria, there was Al and Peg. A “Modern Family” for the 1980s…

This pilot was produced in December 1986 with different actors in the roles of Kelly and Bud Bundy. There were also a few other edits here and there. It’s fun contrasting this copy with the version that FOX eventually aired as the series’ official premiere on April 05, 1987.
