Welcome to a new Wildcard Wednesday! This week I’m offering a sort of bonus Musical Theatre Monday in honor of the 105th anniversary of Oh Lady! Lady!!’s 1918 premiere. Among the best of all the so-called “Princess Theatre shows” — by Jerome Kern, Guy Bolton, and P.G. Wodehouse — Oh Lady! Lady!! originally starred future Rodgers & Hart muse Vivienne Segal, and included a handful of great numbers, including “Not Yet,” “Before I Met You,” “Waiting Around The Corner,” and (before it was cut) the initial version of Show Boat’s classic “Bill.”
In honor of this great score, I’m offering — for subscribers who comment below to alert me of their private, non-commercial interest — access to a live songs-only audio of a concert production conducted by John McGlinn at Carnegie Hall in 1985 (the inspiration for a still-unreleased studio recording). As a taste, here’s George Dvorsky and Jeanne Lehman…
Come back next week for another Wildcard! And stay tuned Tuesday for more 3rd Rock!
Jackson: Thanks so much for this wonderful offer. Yes, please provide me access to the live songs-only audio of a concert production conducted by John McGlinn at Carnegie Hall in 1985 that you mention above. My interest is personal and not commercial. Paul Berg

Enjoyed the preview video! Please send the audio! Why did the recording end up unreleased?
Hi, Miranda! Thanks for reading and commenting.
From my understanding, a lot of McGlinn projects are unreleased because he was fired before their technical completion, and they were thus abandoned.
