Damn Yankees (and Phil Silvers, too!)

Welcome to a new Musical Theatre Monday! This month, I’m offering, to subscribers who comment below to alert me of their interest, access to another Phil Silvers gem — a copy of the very ’60s TV adaptation of Damn Yankees, which starred Silvers, Lee Remick, Jerry Lanning, Jim Backus, Fran Allison, Ray Middleton, and Linda Lavin, and was first broadcast by NBC on April 8, 1967. The production used to be online years ago, but now only clips can be found. This is your chance to see the WHOLE campy show (an excerpt of which is below)… and, ah, heck, I’ll throw in more Silvers rarities: an audio of the 1971 Pre-Broadway and 1972 Broadway runs of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. Let me know!

Come back next month for another Musical rarity! And stay tuned for Leave It To Beaver!
